Japanese puzzle craft  ·  Design history with character  ·  Beechwood with water-based paint  ·  5 characters  ·  Ages 4 and up  ·  David Weeks Design

Inspired by the classic horror canon, Areaware's cult Cubebot® meets its most supernatural relatives. Each figure is crafted from beechwood, finished with water-based paint and held together by elastic bands – making it poseable in dozens of unique positions. When the show is over: fold it back into a perfect 1.5-inch cube.

Designed by David Weeks – the New York-based designer who created one of the most beloved design toys of the last decades with the original Cubebot®. Inspired by the Japanese tradition of Kumi-ki wooden puzzles.

Few toys manage to feel equally at home in design museums and children's rooms. Cubebot® is one of them. Cleverly engineered, beautiful to look at, and simply joyful – whether you're posing it, playing with it, or letting it hold court on your desk.

The Supernatural edition adds a new dimension: character. Each figure has its own personality – and still fits perfectly into any shelf, Advent countdown, or Halloween display.

The Cubebot® rarely ends up in a drawer. Children play with it on the way to school, set it up on the desk, change its pose daily. Adults buy it for themselves and only then notice it's recommended for ages 4 and up. "I have all five -- and every one of them is somewhere on a desk or shelf," writes one buyer. The Supernatural edition works particularly well as a Halloween gift and as a collectible set: whoever has one figure usually wants the other four before long.

5 characters – each with its own personality. Choose your creature of the night.

The perfect gift – for Halloween, Christmas & birthdays alike

How does the Cubebot® work?

Cubebot® is made from wooden parts connected by elastic bands. This allows it to hold dozens of poses – and fold back into a perfect cube when you're done.

Who is the Cubebot® Supernatural for?

Recommended for ages 4 and up – but just as coveted by adults. As a desk object, collectible, or a special design gift for anyone who loves toys with substance.

Which characters are available?

Ghost, Mummy, Vampire, Werewolf and Zombie – each with its own supernatural aesthetic, all crafted to the same high standard.

Is the Cubebot® a good gift?

Yes – it surprises, it's unusual, and it has real design value. Perfect for kids, design lovers and everyone who wants more style than plastic at Halloween, Christmas or birthdays.

What material is the Cubebot® made from?

Cubebot® is made from beechwood with water-based paint – a durable, child-safe and sustainably crafted design toy.

Can the Cubebot® also be used as a display object?

Absolutely – whether folded into a cube or posed in a favourite position, it looks great on a desk, shelf, or as part of a Halloween display. Many owners change the pose regularly, treating it as a living design object.

How durable is the Cubebot®?

The elastic bands are designed to withstand years of use. Beechwood is a robust material – with simple care (store dry, wipe with a damp cloth) the Cubebot® lasts a very long time.

Can all five Supernatural figures be displayed together?

Yes – the five figures share the same scale and design and make an impressive group display. Each character can be ordered individually from us.

How does the Supernatural differ from the original Cubebot®?

The core principle – wooden parts, elastic bands, foldable into a cube – is identical. The Supernatural edition gives each figure its own character-based colour concept and is deliberately conceived as a collectible series. The classic Cubebot® is a single colour and more reduced in the Kumi-ki spirit.

Who designed the Cubebot®?

David Weeks, New York-based designer, created the Cubebot® for Areaware. Inspired by the Japanese Kumi-ki tradition of wooden puzzles, he has made it one of the most sold and celebrated design toys of recent decades.
