Description

SIDE BY SIDE  ·  POT TRIVET L

Large enough for four pots. Flat enough for the drawer.

The extendable pot trivet L by side by side Design is the format for anyone who has never found a trivet large enough. Extended to up to 80 cm, it holds large roasting dishes, heavy casseroles, and up to four pots side by side. Folded, it is 8 cm wide – it takes up less than half the drawer space of a conventional trivet. The scissor-grid mechanism in oiled walnut is continuously adjustable, tool-free, and “proven in daily use for many years” – as one customer puts it. “Simple and elegant enough to use on special occasions” – as another does. Designed by Sabine Meyer, handcrafted in the Wendelstein Werkstätten for people with disabilities.

Which pots, pans, and dishes fit on the trivet L?

The L trivet holds up to four pots side by side. Extended to 80 cm, it fits large roasting dishes, long fish kettles, heavy cast-iron braisers, or a serving arrangement of several bowls. Folded, it is 8 cm wide and fits in any kitchen drawer. One customer summarises it neatly: “A trivet for all formats.” For smaller individual vessels, the S (up to 30 cm) and M (up to 50 cm) are available.

How does the extending mechanism work — and is it stable under heavy pots?

The L trivet is built on the scissor-grid principle: oiled walnut slats connected in a scissor pattern via screw joints. To extend, hold both sides and pull to the desired width – steplessly adjustable, no tools required. The screw joints keep the trivet stable when extended. Customers report that the design “has proven itself in daily use for many years” – including under heavy casseroles and roasting dishes.

Why oiled walnut – and not lacquered or coated?

Oiled wood remains a living material: it breathes, responds to humidity, and develops a patina that makes it darker and richer. Lacquered wood is sealed – it stays as it is but cannot improve. The oiled trivet looks better after years of daily use than on the first day – not worn, but lived in.

Does the trivet L make a good gift?

Particularly for enthusiastic cooks who regularly use large pots, roasting dishes, or braising pans – or for anyone who wants to replace a collection of mismatched cork trivets with one that does everything. An oiled walnut kitchen object, handcrafted in a workshop for people with disabilities, “simple yet elegant enough for special occasions”. Delivered in beautiful individual packaging.
