A lemon and a sardine fell in love. She used to visit him onshore, and in turn, he would visit her at sea. From then on, sardines and lemons go hand in hand, symbolizing a passionate and well-cared-for heart.

Olive oil from some of the oldest trees in Portugal, brandy from Lourinhã, canned fish from the stocks off the Atlantic coast of Portugal. For this they chose popular classics, created some new ones and dressed them in beautiful clothes to present them to the world.
The outer cartons are more artwork than bland packaging and were designed by Portuguese artists and illustrators individually for each delicacy. The exterior design aptly corresponds with the quality of the contents.
The recipes blend the traditional with the innovative. The canned fish, caught from stocks off Portugal's Atlantic coast, are made using the pre-cooking method. In this process, the fish are pre-cooked before being canned. In the cans they then mature into real delicacies.
You can enjoy these fine morsels as a little treat between meals, at a picnic, as a hangover reserve or as a gift instead of flowers. Canned fish 2.0.
Sardines risotto with Azores cheese and lemon
Stir fry 250g arborio rice with 1d| of olive oil, 2 garlic cloves smashed with skin and 2 bay leaves, over high heat. Once the rice grains begin to whiten, add 1,5dl of white whine and leave until all the liquid has evaporated. Add 1/2 | of warmed chicken stock, little by little cooked “al dente”. Keep aside a little bit of the chicken stock, just in case you might like the risotto more creamy, and add 150g butter, 150g of Azores grated cheese, and the juice and zest of 1 lemon, mix well and add to the rice. Add 3 sardine tins,1/4 fresh coriander, and Iastly 2 tomatoes, which are skinless and seedless.

Store canned food in a cool, dry place. Store the rest, if not completely consumed, in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

How much are the shipping costs?
Within Germany, many orders are shipped free of charge. We charge a flat rate of €5.90 for the shipping of your order within Germany and shipping is free for you from an order value of €59.
Bulky goods shipping costs of €19.95 may apply for individual items that exceed the standard package size. These will be calculated at check-out.

You can return ordered products up to 30 days after receipt of your order. More information
If you would like to return an item, send us an email to orders@charlesandmarie.com with the order number and information about which products you would like to return. Please pay for the return shipping - this of course does not apply to justified complaints.
