FISURA

The large lava lamp that gives your room permission to breathe.

The large lava lamp by Fisura in Blue & Red stands 75 cm tall – not a desk object but a genuine statement piece for the room. Red wax rises through blue liquid and sinks back down, hour after hour. Made in Barcelona from metal, glass and wax, with a 170 cm cable and Europlug. The hypnotic display object for anyone whose home needs a place to switch off.

75 cm tall · Red lava · Blue liquid · White base · Fisura Barcelona

Lava lamps have been the symbol of deceleration since the 70s – and this one brings the format to a new scale. 75 cm total height, 20 cm wide: this is not a decoration that disappears on a sideboard, but an object that defines the room. The red wax in the blue liquid creates a cool–warm tension that genuinely helps you slow down as you watch it. As a housewarming gift, a birthday present, for anyone furnishing a meditation space, or for people who want something living on their floor.

On first use, the wax needs 3–5 hours to fully heat up and begin flowing visibly. This is normal and not a sign of a fault. Important: do not switch off during the first use before the wax is fully in motion – otherwise wax stays at the top and is difficult to reheat later. From the second use onwards, warm-up time is significantly shorter. Do not touch the lamp while it is on or just switched off – all parts become hot. Optimal room temperature: 22–25 °C.

The wax isn’t flowing — is the lamp faulty?

No. On first use, the wax needs 3–5 hours to fully heat up and begin flowing visibly. This is normal. Important: do not switch off during the first use before the wax is fully in motion — otherwise wax stays at the top and is difficult to reheat later. From the second use onwards, warm-up time is significantly shorter.

The liquid in my lamp has turned cloudy. What should I do?

Cloudiness is caused by a component that the wax releases when heated. In many cases it clears if the lamp is left on for longer. If the cloudiness persists, contact us — Fisura will provide a replacement bottle in this case.

Can I use the lava lamp for reading?

No. The lava lamp is a decorative product with ambient light. It is not suitable as a primary light source for reading or tasks requiring bright light. For atmosphere and mood in a room, it is ideal.

Where is the best place to put the lava lamp?

On a stable, level surface – directly on the floor, on a low plinth, or on a sideboard with enough clearance. The lamp needs a position away from direct sunlight and at a room temperature of 22–25 °C for the best lava flow.

How big is the lava lamp really?

75 cm tall and 20 cm wide. That is significantly larger than most lava lamps and closer in scale to a floor lamp. Plan for it accordingly – this object needs space to make its presence felt.

Does the lamp suit a modern interior?

Yes. The combination of white base, blue liquid and red wax works especially well in bright, clean rooms. The cool–warm colour contrast is a deliberate mood element – meditative, alive, timelessly retro.

Is it a good housewarming or birthday gift?

Very much so. A 75 cm lava lamp is not a mass-market product – it is an object that stays with someone for years and reliably starts conversations. Ideal for people who want to give their home a soul.

Are replacement bulbs available?

Yes — replacement bulbs can be requested from Fisura. Get in touch with us and we will make the connection.
