Description

Flora brings a touch of African wildlife into your home.

Chresten Sommer has brought this figurine to life with carefully selected details so that she looks just like a real hippo. You can even change her pose by moving her head, legs and tail.

This large animal lives in lakes and rivers south of the Sahara desert, where it gathers in flocks with its fellow species. Here it spends the days drifting around in the water, so you can just see its ears and eyes poke through the water’s surface, while at night it goes ashore to eat grass.

It’s difficult to get up close to the hippopotamus in its natural surroundings, but with Chresten Sommer's beautiful figure you can now get the magnificent animal into your own home.

Flora goes perfectly with the hippopotamus cub, Wilma.

Chresten Sommer is known for his beautiful portraits of various animals. Whether he immerses himself in pet designs, like the dog and cat, or looks to wild animals from exotic regions for inspiration, he always manages to create portraits that replicate nature's design to a tee. Flora is another great example of his sense of creating characters that are full of life.

Flora is made of FSC-certified oak and maple. Flora is not a toy and is not to be used by children. It is a unique handmade and hand-assembled product in wood and there may be some minor variations from product to product. Clean with a damp cloth. For better finish and maintenance use beeswax occasionally on all Spring Copenhagen wooden products.

Chresten Sommer's designs should appeal to all genders and all ages. His designs follow several rules: they have to be simple, accentuate the aesthetics of wood and combine nature with sweet and childish expressions - and of course always be hand-turned.

It is crucial to him that his characters have the right proportions and the right expression. He is only satisfied when he feels that this is his best design so far. It has always been the craft, and using his hands, that attracted him. And it was the fascination with the craft that 15 years ago led him to make wooden designs as a hobby.

All later orders on working days, which only contain products that can be delivered immediately, will be dispatched on the following working day

Products that can be delivered immediately will usually be with you within 4-6 working days.

Your order will be shipped via our partners DHL & UPS within Germany and the EU.

How much are the shipping costs?

Within Germany, many orders are shipped free of charge. We charge a flat rate of €5.90 for the shipping of your order within Germany and shipping is free for you from an order value of €59.

Bulky goods shipping costs of €19.95 may apply for individual items that exceed the standard package size. These will be calculated at check-out.

Shipping to most EU countries costs a flat rate of €9.90 and is free of charge for orders over €85. All shipping details

If you would like to return an item, send us an email to orders@charlesandmarie.com with the order number and information about which products you would like to return. Please pay for the return shipping - this of course does not apply to justified complaints.

How fast is shipping and where is my order?

In general, all orders are processed on the same day. This means that you will be sent an order confirmation by email immediately after you have placed your order.

Orders received before 2:00 p.m. CET will be shipped the same working day if all the products ordered are in stock. Orders placed over the weekend will be processed and shipped the following Monday.

As soon as your order is dispatched and handed over to our logistics partner, you will receive tracking information via email via the DHL, DPD or UPS systems. You simply click on the tracking code in this email and you can immediately follow the status of your delivery.

Do you have a sold-out product with you? Delivery time pre-ordered? Well, such orders will be shipped as soon as the goods arrive back at our warehouse. Please note the delivery time indicated for the product.
