Parkside was founded in 2019 by Lindsay Stead in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada — with a simple conviction: puzzles can be designed as thoughtfully as a piece of art. Every motif is developed in close collaboration with illustrators, graphic designers, and artists from around the world. The pieces live up to the imagery: sturdy ribbon cut, no false fits, printed in the Netherlands to stringent environmental standards. Charles & Marie is Parkside's official European partner — when European customers look for Parkside puzzles, Parkside directs them straight to us.

Parkside brings together three things that rarely coincide in the puzzle market: exceptional motif selection, craftsmanship in production, and genuine sustainability commitment. The range spans NASA archive images (Blue Marble, The Moon, Mars) to contemporary illustration work, to vintage series like "Paint by Numbers" — five designs inspired by mid-20th century paint-by-number kits — or "Buttons", featuring real pinback buttons from 1890 to 1950. There's also "Dots", a round 1,000-piece puzzle inspired by the Washington Color School.

Every Parkside puzzle is the result of a real artist collaboration: Sara Andreasson, Martin Jarrie, Amanda Jane Jones, Kristof Santy, and many others have created motifs exclusively for the label. Lost a piece? Parkside will send a replacement — free of charge, by post.

From 2025, all Parkside puzzles are made from FSC-certified materials — a blend of recycled and FSC-certified components, for both the puzzle pieces and the box. Inks and adhesives are exclusively environmentally friendly and of natural origin. Pieces are packed in paper bags, not plastic — making every puzzle 100% plastic-free.

Production takes place in the Netherlands: the printing facility sources 90% of its raw materials locally and uses waste heat from its own machinery for heating. By producing in Europe rather than overseas, Parkside significantly reduces the carbon footprint of transporting puzzles to European customers.

We've carried Parkside since the early days of the brand and are today the only authorised Parkside retailer in Europe — with a direct link on the Parkside website. Our selection covers the full range: from the monumental NASA collaboration "The Planets" (2,000 pieces) to the fine vintage series to the latest artist editions. All puzzles ship directly from our warehouse — no waiting for imports from Canada. If you want to buy a Parkside puzzle in Europe, you're in the right place.

A Parkside puzzle is one of those gifts where it's immediately clear: someone put thought into this. The unusual motifs, the considered packaging, and the noticeably high material quality communicate genuine appreciation — without being loud about it. As a birthday gift, Christmas gift, housewarming present, or simply because. The key is matching the motif to the recipient: the NASA edition for the space enthusiast, the Buttons series for the vintage lover, the latest artist collaboration for the design-minded.

What is Parkside Puzzles and where does the brand come from?

Parkside was founded in 2019 by Lindsay Stead in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada — originally under the name "Four Point Puzzles". The label is known for puzzles with extraordinary motifs, developed in collaboration with artists and illustrators from around the world. Today, Parkside is considered one of the most design-driven puzzle brands in North America.

How good is the quality of Parkside puzzle pieces?

Parkside uses a ribbon cut that reliably prevents false fits — pieces that look like they fit but don't. The pieces are sturdy with a wide variety of shapes. Printing takes place in the Netherlands in a facility with high quality and environmental standards. All inks and adhesives are exclusively of natural origin.

Are Parkside puzzles sustainably produced?

Yes. From 2025, all puzzles are made from FSC-certified materials (a mix of recycled and FSC-certified content). Puzzle pieces come in paper bags — no plastic. Inks and adhesives are eco-friendly and of natural origin. Production takes place in the Netherlands, which significantly reduces the transport distance compared to brands manufactured in Asia.

What happens if I lose a puzzle piece?

Parkside offers a replacement piece service: if the missing piece is still available, Parkside will send it free of charge by post. Simply contact Parkside via their website — the service is equally accessible for customers who purchased from Charles & Marie.

Who is a Parkside puzzle a good gift for?

Parkside puzzles are particularly well-suited for people with a design sensibility — and for anyone who enjoys working on an image they'd consider framing when it's done. The NASA series is a great match for science and space enthusiasts, the vintage series for lovers of historical objects and graphic design, and the artist collaborations for fans of contemporary illustration.

What difficulty levels are available at Parkside?

The majority of the Parkside collection consists of 1,000-piece puzzles — a reliable size for adults, completable in one or two evenings. "The Planets" is available as a 2,000-piece edition, aimed at more experienced puzzlers. Difficulty also depends on the motif: colourful, detailed illustrations are generally easier to complete than large-scale photographs with low contrast.

Where are Parkside puzzles manufactured?

Parkside was founded in Canada but manufactures in the Netherlands. The printing facility sources 90% of its raw materials regionally and uses waste heat from its own machinery for heating. European production means significantly shorter transport routes to European customers compared to brands with Asian manufacturing.

Why buy Parkside puzzles from Charles & Marie?

Charles & Marie is Parkside's official and only authorised retailer in Europe — with a direct link on the Parkside website. Anyone in Europe looking to buy a Parkside puzzle is directed to us by Parkside itself. All puzzles are available immediately from our warehouse. Any issues or questions? Our customer service team is here to help.

Parkside makes puzzles you don't want to put back in the box — because the motif is too good and the quality too convincing. As Parkside's official European partner, we bring the full collection from Canada straight to you.
