Fashionistas are usually able to spot social and cultural trends, regularly attend lifestyle events and keep up to date with the latest publications in various fashion magazines and fashion websites on fashion & product design and lifestyle topics.

Because of this, many people stop Fashionistas for "superficial or unloving", but in reality many sit down Fashionistas for things they believe in, like eliminating child labor in the manufacture of clothing or shoes and making products that are ecologically produced and meaningful.
