Description
SIDE BY SIDE · POT TRIVET S
Small enough for the drawer. Large enough for the pot.
The extendable pot trivet S by side by side Design solves a problem every trivet has: it takes up space even when you don’t need it. Not this one. Folded, it is 4 cm wide and 21 cm long – narrower than a pack of biscuits, flat enough for any kitchen drawer. Extended, it protects worktops and table surfaces up to 30 cm wide from heat, moisture, and scratches. The extending mechanism: oiled walnut slats, connected in a scissor grid via screw joints – no tools, no force required. Designed by Sabine Meyer, handcrafted in the Wendelstein Werkstätten for people with disabilities.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Which pots, pans, and dishes fit on the trivet S?
The S trivet is the format for smaller, single cooking vessels: milk pan, espresso maker, saucepan, small casserole, or teapot. Extended to its full 30 cm, it also fits a compact roasting dish. One customer puts it neatly: “Very small, but beautiful. Extended, exactly the right size.” For larger pots or several vessels side by side, the trivet M (up to 50 cm) or L (up to 80 cm) are the better choice.
How does the extending mechanism work?
The trivet is built on the scissor-grid principle: oiled walnut slats are connected in a scissor pattern via screw joints. To extend, hold both sides and pull to the desired width – no tools, no significant force. The screw joints keep the trivet stable in the extended position. When new, the mechanism may feel a little stiff; it becomes smoother with use.
Why oiled walnut – and not lacquered or coated?
Oiled wood is a living material: it breathes, responds to the kitchen’s humidity, and develops a patina over time that makes the wood darker and richer. Lacquered wood is sealed – it stays as it is, but it cannot respond and cannot improve. The oiled trivet looks better after years of use than on the first day – not worn, but lived in.
Does the trivet S make a good gift?
Particularly so – for anyone who loves cooking but has limited space, or for those who want to retire their cork trivets for good. A kitchen object in oiled walnut, handcrafted in a workshop for people with disabilities. For housewarming gifts, birthdays, or just because. Delivered in beautiful individual packaging.
Is the trivet available for corporate gifting?
Yes – information on corporate orders and bulk quantities is available in the menu on charlesandmarie.de.
