FISURA

Silver and purple — a rocket that doesn't fly, but transports every room to another world.

The Rocket Lava Lamp by Fisura in silver with purple lava is the quietest member of the Rocket family — and the most impressive. Silver metal housing, metal landing legs, a clear glass bottle with purple wax blobs rising slowly: the interplay of cool silver and warm purple is hard to describe but impossible to ignore.

Metal & Glass, 45 cm Height · Silver housing & purple lava · Retro Space Age Design · 2 × R39 E14 25W Bulbs Included · EU Plug, 230V · For Table and Shelf

Purple is the colour of dreaming, mysticism and stillness — and as lava inside a silver rocket, it has an almost meditative effect. Purple wax blobs move slowly through clear liquid, bathing the room in a gently shimmering light.

The Rocket Lava Lamp by Fisura is the grown-up version of this idea: no plastic, no cheap housing. The silver metal housing with its characteristic landing legs gives it a weight and presence you feel immediately. The shape is unmistakable — a rocket exactly as it should have looked in the 1960s. And the lava lamp inside does what lava lamps are loved for: it slows you down.

Some gifts are useful. Others you don't see coming. The Rocket Lava Lamp is the latter. It's the gift for someone who appreciates depth — and has never turned down a rocket on their shelf. Whether for a birthday, Christmas, a housewarming, or just because: the Rocket Lava Lamp is the gift that still gets used and admired every day months later. With the included spare bulb, it arrives complete and fully ready to use.

How long does it take for the lava to flow the first time?

On first use, it can take 3 to 5 hours for the wax to fully flow — this is normal for all lava lamps and not a defect. The wax needs to fully liquefy first. From the second use onwards it happens much faster. For best results: operate the lamp at room temperature between 22 and 25 °C and let it run for at least 4 hours.

Which bulb does the Rocket Lava Lamp need — and is it included?

The Rocket Lava Lamp uses an R39 E14 25W bulb. Two bulbs are included in the delivery — one installed, one as a spare. You won't need to go searching when the first bulb eventually dims. R39 E14 25W bulbs are widely available from electrical retailers and online.

Does the Rocket Lava Lamp get warm or hot?

The base of the lava lamp gets warm — this is intentional, as the heat from the bulb sets the wax in motion. The metal housing also becomes slightly warm. Place the lamp on a stable, heat-resistant surface and keep children and pets from directly touching the lamp while it's running.

How long can I run the Rocket Lava Lamp continuously?

We recommend running the Rocket Lava Lamp for a maximum of 8 to 10 hours at a time before giving it a break. Continuous overnight operation without supervision is not recommended. After a cooling period, it can be switched on again without issue. This extends the life of the bulb and keeps the wax in optimal condition.

How big is the Rocket Lava Lamp?

The Rocket Lava Lamp is 45 cm tall and 20 cm wide — noticeably larger than a classic table lava lamp, and therefore more commanding in a room. It fits well on a generous sideboard, a wide shelf, or a sturdy desk, or alternatively on the wall. The impressive form comes into its own best when given a little breathing space around it.

Which colour variants does the Rocket Lava Lamp come in?

The Rocket Lava Lamp is available in seven variants: Silver · Red Lava, Silver · Purple Lava, Silver · Orange Lava, Blue Gradient, Orange Gradient, Pink Monochrome, Black · Very Peri. All classic silver variants share the same rocket form and metal construction, differing only in lava colour. The gradient variants have an entirely coloured housing. The pink monochrome is all pink; the Very Peri variant has a black housing with purple lava.

Is the Rocket Lava Lamp a good gift?

Yes — the Rocket Lava Lamp is one of the best gifts for people who are hard to surprise with conventional presents. It's unusual, high quality, and impossible not to smile at when switched on. Perfect for a housewarming, a birthday, Christmas, or any occasion where you want to make a real effort.

Which rooms is the Rocket Lava Lamp suited for?

The silver and purple variant works especially well in the bedroom as calming mood lighting, in the living room as a mystical accent on a dark sideboard, and in the home office as a meditative anchor point next to the screen. Not suitable as primary lighting — it's a mood setter and decorative object, not a floodlight.

What to do if the wax stops moving properly or stays as a lump?

If the wax settles as a single ball at the bottom or stays at the top, temperature fluctuations are usually the cause. Place the lamp somewhere with consistent room temperature (22–25 °C) and let it cool completely before switching on again. Never place it in direct sunlight or near a heat source. Never shake the bottle during operation — this permanently damages the emulsion.
