Description
SHEYN · Nicolas Gold
Two forms, one gradient – the mini vase set that turns any shelf into a small gallery.
Vienna-based designer Nicolas Gold created Bloz and Boyk in 2026 for the Blend Collection as a study in contrasts: Bloz with its organic, blob-like asymmetry that looks heavy but feels surprisingly light – and Boyk with rounded geometry and a silhouette that reveals something different from every angle. Both vases measure 65 × 65 × 65 mm, weigh 200 g together and are produced on demand by FDM 3D printing from 50 % recycled PLA at the Viennese studio. In Peppermint, a cool green-to-white gradient flows across both surfaces – the freshest and most architectural shade of the entire Blend Collection.
Bloz & Boyk – Two Forms That Belong Together
Bloz is the surprise of the set: the blob-like form looks solid and grounded – but in hand it is remarkably light. Boyk complements it with rounded geometry and a slightly asymmetric silhouette that shifts with every angle. Together they create a quiet but compelling statement on a sideboard, bookshelf or windowsill.
The Blend effect is the heart of the collection. Nicolas Gold developed a dramatic gradient that runs across the entire surface of each vase – in Peppermint, shifting from a cool, fresh green to near-pure white. Because 50 % of the PLA is recycled material, the gradient never falls exactly the same way twice. Every set becomes a small original.
Both vases come with a high-quality, removable glass insert. The insert is dishwasher-safe and allows fresh flowers to be placed inside. The PLA shell itself is not waterproof – without the insert, the set works beautifully with dried flowers or as a pure sculptural object.

PLA shell: Clean with a dry cloth or cold water. Avoid direct sunlight (PLA tolerates up to 70 °C), do not microwave.
Glass insert: Removable and dishwasher-safe.
What is the difference between Bloz and Boyk?
Bloz has an organic, asymmetric blob-like form that appears compact and heavy – but is actually surprisingly light. Boyk features rounded geometry with a slightly irregular silhouette that looks different from every angle. Together as a pair, they create a visual conversation on a shelf or sideboard.
Can I put fresh flowers in the mini vases?
Yes, the included glass insert makes it possible. The PLA shell is not waterproof, but the removable glass insert is – and it is dishwasher-safe. At 65 × 65 × 65 mm, the vases are ideal for single stems, delicate branches or small dried flower arrangements.
Is every vase truly unique?
Yes. Because 50 % recycled PLA is used, the exact color distribution of the gradient varies slightly from piece to piece. No set is exactly identical to another – this is a deliberate part of Nicolas Gold’s design concept and makes every piece a small original.
Where are Bloz and Boyk made?
Both vases are produced on demand at the SHEYN studio in Lerchenfelder Strasse 7/IV, 1070 Vienna. On demand means each piece is only made after an order is placed via FDM 3D printing – eliminating overproduction and making every order a true individual piece.
Is this a good gift for someone who already has everything?
That is exactly what it is made for. The Blend Collection by Nicolas Gold is a brand-new 2026 design stocked at South Bank Centre London, Becker Minty Australia and LUMAS – not a mass-market product, but a curated piece of contemporary design. Peppermint reads as cool, considered and anything but cliched. Perfect for a birthday, housewarming or as a thank-you gift.
What is PLA and is it actually sustainable?
PLA stands for polylactic acid – a plant-based polymer derived from renewable resources such as corn or sugarcane, not petroleum. SHEYN also uses 50 % recycled PLA and produces on demand, which fully eliminates overproduction. These are verifiable structural choices, not greenwashing.
What awards has the Blend Collection received?
The Blend Collection was nominated for the International Design Awards (IDA) in 2025. It is stocked internationally at South Bank Centre London, Becker Minty Australia and LUMAS – addresses that work exclusively with curated contemporary design.
