How did the baby elephant get her trunk?

The elephant is a very special animal - its appearance is not like anything else in the animal kingdom. Particularly prominent is the trunk, which the elephant uses to gather food and spray water. In a famous tale by Rudyard Kipling, the baby elephant gets its trunk from the "grey-green, muddy Limpopo river".
Here, out of curiosity, it gets too close to the crocodile, which bites into the elephant cub’s nose. And when the baby elephant finally gets pulled free, the nose has grown to a remarkable length.

We can assure you that this isn’t how Chresten Sommer gave his little Ella elephant cub its trunk, but he has created a figure that looks just like the real thing.

Do you have room for two elephants?

With their modest size, we’re almost certain you’ll have room for both of Chresten Sommer's elephants - Ella & Ollie. In addition to the little Ella, he has also created a big elephant, Ollie, and together these two figurines make the cutest little family.

Both are handmade and hand-assembled figures made in FSC-certified oak and maple.

Both elephants are not a toy and are not to be used by children. It is a unique handmade and hand-assembled product in wood and there may be some minor variations from product to product. Clean it with a damp cloth. For better finish and maintenance use beeswax occasionally on all Spring Copenhagen wooden products.

Chresten Sommer's designs should appeal to all genders and all ages. His designs follow several rules: they have to be simple, accentuate the aesthetics of wood and combine nature with sweet and childish expressions - and of course always be hand-turned.

It is crucial to him that his characters have the right proportions and the right expression. He is only satisfied when he feels that this is his best design so far. It has always been the craft, and using his hands, that attracted him. And it was the fascination with the craft that 15 years ago led him to make wooden designs as a hobby.

All later orders on working days, which only contain products that can be delivered immediately, will be dispatched on the following working day

Europe - free shipping from 85 € order value

Products that can be delivered immediately will usually be with you within 4-6 working days.

Your order will be shipped via our partners DHL & UPS within Germany and the EU.

How much are the shipping costs?

Within Germany, many orders are shipped free of charge. We charge a flat rate of €5.90 for the shipping of your order within Germany and shipping is free for you from an order value of €59.

Bulky goods shipping costs of €19.95 may apply for individual items that exceed the standard package size. These will be calculated at check-out.

Shipping to most EU countries costs a flat rate of €9.90 and is free of charge for orders over €85. All shipping details

How can I return products?

You can return ordered products up to 30 days after receipt of your order. More information

If you would like to return an item, send us an email to orders@charlesandmarie.com with the order number and information about which products you would like to return. Please pay for the return shipping - this of course does not apply to justified complaints.

A different delivery time is displayed

If a product can only be pre-ordered or is not in stock, it cannot be delivered immediately. In this case, you can find the deviating delivery time on the product page. As soon as we have the product available and dispatched again, you will receive it within the delivery times stated above.

How fast is shipping and where is my order?

In general, all orders are processed on the same day. This means that you will be sent an order confirmation by email immediately after you have placed your order.

Orders received before 2:00 p.m. CET will be shipped the same working day if all the products ordered are in stock. Orders placed over the weekend will be processed and shipped the following Monday.

As soon as your order is dispatched and handed over to our logistics partner, you will receive tracking information via email via the DHL, DPD or UPS systems. You simply click on the tracking code in this email and you can immediately follow the status of your delivery.

Do you have a sold-out product with you? Delivery time pre-ordered? Well, such orders will be shipped as soon as the goods arrive back at our warehouse. Please note the delivery time indicated for the product.
