Description
The World of Beautiful Things
What is design? And how can it be beautiful? Whether it's a chair, a car, a radio or an advertising poster - there are objects that we find timelessly beautiful because their function, form, proportions and colours work together perfectly. They are collected and explained in this visual encyclopedia. Organized chronologically, the book offers an overview of the eras and developments of product, everyday and graphic design and shows design classics from Tiffany to Apple.
A unique visual journey through design history
The elaborately designed encyclopedia gives interested readers an insight into the origins of our understanding of design and an overview of design eras . Tools and elements of design are shown, as are important influences and milestones. Special pages show particularly interesting objects in large format and with many details.
