Bring a jangle of unconventionality to the pedestrian act of gathering your keys.

These Contour Key Rings - by Karl Zahn for Areaware - come in four different shapes and close neatly with a screw clasp. Wear the ring around your wrist or clip it to your belt. Made from 10 gauge brass wire (1/8 inch or 0,3 cm in thickness).

The extra-large version 'Petal XL' can function as an over-sized key chain and is large enough to hold other miscellaneous items. Hang it on a wall, wear it around your wrist, or clip it to your belt.

Karl Zahn, born in Vermont in 1981, grew up playing in his father’s woodshop. After completing his studies in Product Design at the Rhode Island School of Design in 2003, Zahn worked as an architectural fabricator in San Francisco. He also spent time in Copenhagen studying Danish furniture design. Zahn draws inspiration from the long history of Danish industrial craft, with its balanced function and form. Since relocating to Brooklyn in 2007, Zahn has set up his own design shop. A recurring theme in his work is “old technology.” Zahn believes that the pace of technology moves too quickly to fully exhaust all possibilities and is interested in examining and preserving “forgotten technologies” by repurposing them into contemporary lifestyles.

Karl Zahn is a freelance product and furniture designer in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. His work examines contemporary materials and historical technologies in an attempt to create modern hybrids that are more applicable, beautiful and sustainable. His designs express a pared down simplicity and stark aesthetic as a blend of modernist hard lines and surfaces with a Danish sensitivity to materials and joinery. Each piece is designed to withstand the passing of trends and foster complex relationships that grow more endearing over time.

Born and raised in rural Vermont, his work with wood and natural materials is an extension of the teachings from his home and time spent playing in forests and woodshops. After earning a degree in product design from the Rhode Island School of Design (2003), he travelled to San Francisco where he immersed himself in the creative and complicated metal working culture that thrives there. In 2007, he moved to New York to begin working on his own.

How much are the shipping costs?

Within Germany, many orders are shipped free of charge. We charge a flat rate of €5.90 for the shipping of your order within Germany and shipping is free for you from an order value of €59.

Bulky goods shipping costs of €19.95 may apply for individual items that exceed the standard package size. These will be calculated at check-out.

Shipping to most EU countries costs a flat rate of €9.90 and is free of charge for orders over €85. All shipping details

How can I return products?

You can return ordered products up to 30 days after receipt of your order. More information

If you would like to return an item, send us an email to orders@charlesandmarie.com with the order number and information about which products you would like to return. Please pay for the return shipping - this of course does not apply to justified complaints.

A different delivery time is displayed

If a product can only be pre-ordered or is not in stock, it cannot be delivered immediately. In this case, you can find the deviating delivery time on the product page. As soon as we have the product available and dispatched again, you will receive it within the delivery times stated above.

How fast is shipping and where is my order?

In general, all orders are processed on the same day. This means that you will be sent an order confirmation by email immediately after you have placed your order.

Orders received before 2:00 p.m. CET will be shipped the same working day if all the products ordered are in stock. Orders placed over the weekend will be processed and shipped the following Monday.

As soon as your order is dispatched and handed over to our logistics partner, you will receive tracking information via email via the DHL, DPD or UPS systems. You simply click on the tracking code in this email and you can immediately follow the status of your delivery.

Do you have a sold-out product with you? Delivery time pre-ordered? Well, such orders will be shipped as soon as the goods arrive back at our warehouse. Please note the delivery time indicated for the product.
