Description
SIDE BY SIDE · BREAD BAG & BREAD BOARD
The board fits inside the bag, the bag keeps the bread fresh — a set that thinks bread, board, and storage as one.
A bread board in untreated ash wood, 32 cm long, 23 cm wide and 1.5 cm thick, plus a bread bag in 100% linen with an organic cotton drawstring, 43 × 32 cm — designed by Martin Schober, handcrafted at the Wendelstein Werkstätten. The board is reversible: the ridged side catches crumbs and allows clean cutting right down to the base of the loaf; the smooth side works as a standard cutting board. The linen bag keeps bread fresh and balances moisture — and the board fits neatly inside, so board, bread, and rolls can all be stored together without any loose crumbs.
Ash wood untreated · reversible board · 100% linen · organic cotton drawstring · washable at 60°C · handcrafted in Bavaria

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
How does the set work — does the board really fit inside the bag?
Yes — that’s the key idea. The bread board (32 × 23 cm) fits exactly inside the linen bag (43 × 32 cm). Add bread or rolls, pull the drawstring, done. Everything stored together, no separate pieces, no loose crumbs on the shelf. A set that functions as a system, not as two objects that happen to be sold together.
Why linen for bread storage — what does it do differently?
Linen regulates moisture: it absorbs excess humidity and releases it as needed. This keeps bread fresh longer than plastic film or plastic containers, which trap moisture and accelerate mould. The bread can also be frozen directly in the linen bag — simply place it inside, freeze, and thaw at room temperature. No decanting, no plastic bag needed.
What are the ridges on the bread board for — and can I use the other side?
The ridged side catches the crumbs produced when slicing bread and allows clean cutting right down to the base of the loaf. The reverse side is smooth — useful as a standard cutting board for cheese, charcuterie, or vegetables. One board, two sides, two functions.
Is the set a good gift — for a housewarming, birthday, or Christmas?
Very much so. The set is practical, beautiful, and immediately at home in any kitchen. For a housewarming, birthday, Christmas, or as a corporate gift — click “Corporate Gifts” in the top menu for information on quantities and terms. Delivered in the original box, no additional packaging needed.
How do I care for the board and the bag?
Do not put the untreated ash wood board in the dishwasher. Wash with warm water after use and dry immediately. Regular rubbing with wood oil extends the lifespan. Wash the bag at 60°C — it has been pre-washed and will not shrink further.
