Description
O.E.L. BERLIN
For everyone who cooks every single day and wants every single drop of quality to count.
The 750 ml squeeze bottle is Sous Chef for the serious cooking life: more volume, more control, not one drop wasted. This mild organic olive oil made from 100 % Koroneiki olives from Andania, Messenia, is hand-harvested, Bird Safe and cold-extracted – and the squeeze mechanism gives you precise, splatter-free dosing straight from the bottle, right over the pan or baking tray.
No Compromises in the Kitchen
Sous Chef was built for the hot kitchen: sautéing, braising, roasting, pasta, vegetables, everyday cooking – everything that gets heat. The oil is deliberately mild so the ingredients stay front and centre, not the oil. The base is 100 % single-variety Koroneiki from the village of Andania in the Messenia region of the Peloponnese – farmed by partner Ilias, who has been working his groves organically for over 30 years.
The squeeze bottle in PET makes dosing simpler and cleaner: no gurgling, no dripping, no spills. For people who cook daily and use olive oil intensively, the large 750 ml format goes further and reduces packaging at the same time. The bottle can be refilled from the 1-litre canister. Sous Chef is identical in origin and production to Flüssiges Gold – but dialled in for mild cooking rather than intensive finishing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the squeeze bottle offer over the glass bottle?
The squeeze bottle delivers precise, drip-free dosing directly over the pan or baking tray – no spout needed, no spills on the hob. For people who cook daily and use olive oil heavily, this is a genuine practical advantage. The glass bottle is the more presentable choice for the kitchen counter or as a gift; the squeeze bottle is the workhorse for everyday use.
Can I refill the squeeze bottle later?
Yes – this is exactly what O.E.L. Berlin’s refill concept is designed for. Pour the 1-litre tin canister into the bottle’s opening and it’s full in seconds. The bottle stays in long-term use; you save packaging; and the canister achieves a recycling rate of 91.1 % – higher than glass at 83.4 %.
What is the difference between Sous Chef and Flüssiges Gold?
Both oils come from Andania, Messenia, and are 100 % Koroneiki. Sous Chef is mild and designed for the hot kitchen – ideal for everyone who cooks daily with olive oil. Flüssiges Gold is intense, aromatic, unfiltered and naturally cloudy with 635 mg/kg polyphenols; it is the finishing oil for salads, dressings and drizzles, enjoyed cold.
Is Sous Chef in the large bottle also a good gift?
The 750 ml squeeze bottle is more of a practical gift for passionate cooks who use olive oil daily – perhaps alongside Flüssiges Gold as a great set for food lovers. For a gift with more visual presence, the glass bottle is the better choice; the squeeze bottle is the “use it every day and learn to love it” format.
Can you really cook with olive oil?
Yes – this widely held myth has been disproved. Extra virgin olive oil is heat-stable up to around 180 °C, which is fully sufficient for vegetables, fish, meat, and pasta. Sous Chef with its high content of monounsaturated fatty acids (73.6 g per 100 ml) is particularly heat-stable and does not overpower the natural flavours of the ingredients.
Where does the oil come from?
The Koroneiki olives grow in Andania, a small village in the Messenia region near Kalamata on the Peloponnese – Greece’s most important olive-growing area. Partner Ilias has farmed the groves organically for over 30 years, harvests by hand, and processes in his own on-site mill.
Is Sous Chef also suitable as a corporate gift?
Click on “Corporate Gifts” at the top of the menu – you will find all information about quantities, conditions and personal consultation there.
Is the oil genuinely certified organic?
Yes – with the organic control number GR-BIO-01. The olives are grown in certified organic farming without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers. The certification is independently audited on a regular basis and is stated on the packaging.
