Description
MIRAGE
Testarossa. Daytona Spider. 365 GTC/4. Not a car. A way of seeing the world.
Under The Sun Vol. 2 – Ferrari is not a car book. It’s a visual poem about Italian longing, golden light, and the quiet magic that happens when beauty meets speed. Frank Rocholl — founder of culture magazine Mirage — curates the most iconic Ferrari models of the 1960s through 1980s as film frames, as art direction, as atmosphere: the Testarossa, the Daytona Spider, the 365 GTC/4, the 412, and the visionary concept car Modulo. No Ferrari coffee table book for garages. This one plays out under an open sky.
A gift that stays
When you give someone this book, you give them a point of view. Under The Sun reimagines the Ferrari myth through the lens of culture — not through spec sheets, but through the feeling of life at 7,000 rpm. A girl leans against the Testarossa, unbothered — somewhere between Rome and a dream. The light turns gold. Ferrari has always been more than a car — it’s an Italian fantasy: beauty in motion, elegance with danger, glamour with grit. Every frame feels like a scene from a lost film. A perfect gift for Italophiles, design lovers, photography collectors, and everyone who thinks the Daytona Spider is the most beautiful object ever to roll on asphalt.
Limited Edition — for special occasions
The Limited Edition (350 €) comes in a silver Art Box, includes two double-sided posters, and is signed by Frank Rocholl — personalizable on request. A collector’s piece you won’t be hiding on a shelf. The standard edition starts at 89 € — both available now.

Frequently asked questions
Which Ferrari models are featured in the book?
The Ferrari Testarossa, Daytona Spider, 365 GTC/4, 412, and the concept car Modulo — all icons from the golden design era between the 1960s and 1980s, shaped by Pininfarina and the spirit of bella macchina. Frank Rocholl didn’t document them. He staged them: as images you feel before you understand them.
How is this different from an official Ferrari publication?
Official Ferrari publications show machines. Under The Sun Vol. 2 shows myth. Frank Rocholl and Mirage aren’t interested in horsepower figures — they’re interested in what a Testarossa or a Daytona Spider means in human emotional life. The result is an editorial artwork closer to cinema than to a dealership: “art direction meets asphalt, every frame feels like a scene from a lost film.”
Do I need to be a Ferrari fan to love this book?
No. Anyone who loves photography, Italian culture, cinematic aesthetics, or high-quality coffee table books will appreciate this as much as someone who has the Testarossa poster on their wall — not because they own one, but because it’s the most beautiful object ever designed. Under The Sun speaks to both.
What’s included in the Limited Edition?
The Limited Edition (350 €) includes the book in a silver Art Box, two double-sided posters, and is signed by Frank Rocholl. It can also be personalized on request — ideal as a gift for Ferrari enthusiasts, design collectors, or Italophiles who already have everything.
