The taxonomy of Typography by PopChartLab from Brooklyn/USA is a capital guide to the punctilios and profiles of typesetting - this print examines the essential elements of, well, print! Presented in a compartmentalized type case recalling 18th century letterpress, this movable feast scrutinizes everything from type variety (Gothic, serif, sans serif) to letter anatomy (apertures, diphthongs) to spacing (kerning, leading)—a quaint encomium to the odds and ends of printed language.

Pop Chart Lab was founded in 2010 by book editor Patrick Mulligan and graphic designer Ben Gibson. They joined forces with one goal: to render all of human experience in chart form. Using 100 lb. archival recycled stock certified by The Forest Stewardship Council, this poster is pressed on an offset lithographic press with vegetable-based inks in Flatlands, Brooklyn.
