'Big Clumsy Hans' is a Danish, registered oak trivet designed by Nis Hauge for Spring Copenhagen.

It is also a unique wooden object that can vary in shape and expression. Nis Hauge (1972) is a Danish designer who creates and develops wooden sculptures, wooden toys and functional items for everyday use and inspiration. The idea behind Nis Hauge’s Clumsy Hans oak trivet is to create a functional, recognizable product, which also serves as a playful sculpture on the dining table and elsewhere in the home.

Clumsy Hans oak trivet was first produced in early 2012 and relaunched by Spring Copenhagen in 2016 in close cooperation with Nis Hauge. There is also a smaller Hans available for your smaller pots and pans - see on the right.

This trivet is not a toy and is not meant to be used by children under the age of 14.
